Kelsie Watts is an innovator when it comes to music. Her approach to the pop genre is traditional, yet unlike anyone you’ve heard before. The truth is, there isn’t a genre of music that Kelsie Watts can’t tackle and that shines through in her music. From classical to pop and R&B to rock, Kelsie’s voice soars and captivates listeners. Born into a musical family, the Lubbock native developed her powerful vocals and artistry as a child. It was her musically talented parents that encouraged Kelsie to pursue her craft after hearing her sing for the first time at two years old. Growing up performing in church and as the leads in her school plays, Kelsie went on to study opera, vocal performance and commercial music at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. It was in Nashville where Kelsie began to hone in on her craft by songwriting and creating her own music that would soon launch her career.
Kelsie began writing and releasing music on her own which caught the eye of industry professionals as well as her peers. In 2020, the emerging artist was asked to be the featured vocalist on AJ McLean’s (Backstreet Boys) single, “Hurts to Love You” which was released under McLean's ATCK venture. Following the single release, Kelsie auditioned for Season 19 of NBC’s The Voice. She wowed the judges and viewers with her version of Kelly Clarkson’s “I Dare You” securing her a place on Team Kelly. It didn’t take long for the performance to go viral across socials and has since gained millions of views.
Of the heels of her run as member of Team Kelly, Kelsie focused in on her career as an independent pop artist. Her single “Live Out Loud” was recorded with Multi-Platinum and GRAMMY Nominated producer, NicoTheOwl. The track served as the theme song for the Tokyo Sky Tree Global Campaign, Tree of Hope W1sh Ribbon Project. Legendary photographer and director, Leslie Kee directed the official video for “Live Out Loud. The video streamed on loop 24/7 from the Tokyo Sky Tree in Tokyo and was featured during the Tokyo 2021 Olympics.
In 2021, Kelsie unveiled the powerful, “Look What You Missed” an upbeat female empowerment track co-written with Casey Cook. Shortly after, she released “I Can’t Say Goodbye” which serves an anthemic ballad for anyone who has gone through a painful loss. Kelsie penned the song about the grief of losing her brother suddenly due to issues with his mental health with the hopes of helping others who have gone through similar anguish.
No stranger to going viral, Kelsie has now accumulated over 100 million views across social platforms including TikTok and Instagram with her cover videos if iconic pop music which she films from her home in Nashville, TN. Her videos have caught the eye of ABC’s Nightline who recently featured her in an episode highlighting her videos and musical talent.
Most recently, Kelsie released her newest single, “After Midnight.” With big plans for 2025, Kelsie Watts is planning to release new music and looking to hit the road to perform for fans around the world. Having accomplished so much already, this is only the beginning for the powerhouse artist/songwriter who is on track to having a major breakthrough and taking the music industry by storm. Kelsie Watts will be the name on everyone’s lips.

Her rendition was more intimate than Clarkson’s original, and — spoiler alert! — the original “American Idol” loved it.
